CKU Provo 2008!!

Provo_2Registration for CKU Provo is today!

I’ve been working on my homework for Ali’s album track for a couple weeks already and CKU doesn’t happen until August.  I can’t wait!  My cousin and friend, Debbie is going with me again.  We’re driving and sight-seeing all along the way too.  Already planning on spending several hours at the Sundance Spa too, while there!  I’ve never been to Provo, so I’m thrilled to be able to explore a new city too!  I’m so excited that I get to go to another CKU.  This will be my third and I’m so thankful that my husband understands.  Love you, baby!

This weekend

100_3186 This is what it looked like on Saturday, at our house…100_3204

And this is what it looks like today.  Spring certainly is fickle this year!

So yesterday, with the cold and snow, it was a good day to do this:100_3203 Knit and coffee.  But even those two wonderful things get old after hours and hours…  So today is a gorgeous day and I’m longing for something fun to do…  Can’t think of anything that fits the bill, though, so I’m doing Boy Scout treasurer business and blogging, surfing and internet shopping for Bee’s 6th birthday, which is rapidly approaching.100_3158  Made these simple, little invitations and sent them out last week.  We’re having his party at Mcdonald’s, down by Guh and Umpa’s house and having all the cousins join us.  Bee’s very excited about the whole thing.  He asks every day, "How many days til my birfday now, Mommy?"  Love that boy!

Got a busy week ahead.  Here’s how it looks so far:

Monday- Guitar lessons

Tuesday- I have a big dentist appointment (Ugh!) and Scouts that evening

Wednesday- CKU REGISTRATION!!!  WOO HOO!!!  I’m so excited, I can hardly stand it.  Got all my old photo albums out to start planning for Ali’s album track!

Thursday- Soccer (it’s our snack night too)  and Boy Scout Den Meeting.

Friday- is my Daddy’s birthday.  Gotta think of something special for the first man in my life! (Love you, Daddy!)

I better get going.  I hope you’re having a fun weekend.  I think I need  a shopping trip to civilization real soon.  I think that’s what’s missing from my fun weekend…{hint, hint}

Eye Candy Friday

100_3065 Couldn’t help taking some pictures of the plants at the zoo.  The tulips won’t be in full bloom for probably another week, but there were a few early birds, sticking out their heads already.100_3107

I saw, this morning, that a couple more of mine are trying to wake up for spring…  It’s so hard to wake up when it’s still so cold outside.  It was 34 degrees this morning and we got flurries a few minutes ago.  The forecast is calling for more snow tomorrow too.100_3059  I think April 26th might be the latest I ever remember having snow…  It won’t stick around, so I’m ok with it.

Love this blue spruce tree at the entrance of the zoo.  I miss our spruce in Iowa.  I just always referred to it as the Christmas tree.  It was so big and beautiful!  I planted one here, but she’s still a baby, only standing about 4 feet tall…100_3110

Also, I can never remember the name of this yellow bush.  My mother has some…she would know the name…  I really need one…or some…  they’re really gorgeous!

So, we have nothing on the agenda for this weekend.  Not sure if I’d like to hang around home and be lazy with my three boys or go do something fun…like go to Cheyenne just for a latte at Starbucks!  We’ll see.

I hope you have a great weekend.

A Field Trip

100_3052 Although this was my view for half the day yesterday, with the music blaring and the sun-roof open, it wasn’t too bad!  The weather was perfect for Will’s field trip to the Scottsbluff Zoo.  I was so happy it was going to be a pretty day afterall.  All the kids had a ball!100_3062

Did lots of walking!  It felt really good.  By far, the smallest zoo I’ve ever seen, but still fun.  Afterwards we went to a pretty little park and had lunch and played.100_3121

Here’s Will’s whole class.  It really wasn’t nearly as trying as I would have guessed, getting 20 first graders to be still for a picture…  They were all really good.  We got home just in time to pick up Bee at school.  And when we got home, both boys passed out.  Yep, they both had afternoon naps—not sure what’s up with that, but it was a very nice, mushy break for all three of us.  Did I mention they both fell asleep, leaning on me?  I was totally in Mommy Heaven!

So, final picture from yesterday:100_3119 Our crazy Doodle, being his crazy self!

Love that boy!  I feel so blessed that I’m able to go on school field trips and do stuff with our boys.  It’s such a gift.

I’m sending pictures to school tomorrow for the moms who weren’t able to go with us.  I hope they enjoy them.  I know Will will love surprising the kids with them tomorrow.

Alrighty, got a bunch to do today, since I was mostly absent from home yesterday.  Have a great day, everyone!

Our Aspen re-joins the world!

100_3010 And isn’t she beautiful?!

Also found this today…  the first one of the year.100_3001

And, do you know what the next photo is?  (A very close second favorite of mine, after the tulip…)100_3012

Blue Columbine, just like the stuff that still grows wild all over the Colorado Rockies!  I can’t believe I didn’t spot it before today…  looks like it’s been peeking out for a while this spring…  No flowers yet, but you’re sure to see plenty soon as I do.

I’m accompanying Will’s class to the zoo tomorrow (an hour and a half drive from here)  We’ll be gone all day and Will’s so excited he can hardly contain himself!  Pictures to come later.  Wish me luck…

One Year Ago Today

100_5298 One year ago today, I already had tulips in full bloom…  none yet this year…  I’m kind-of patiently waiting…

Also packing a suitcase and doing last minute stuff around here, in preparation for leaving for Colorado in the morning.  The boys and I are heading out at the same time that we say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa who are going home to Michigan.  We’ll miss you guys!

I’m having my little van detailed today.  Can’t wait to get it back…it’s like having a brand new car again!  Then tomorrow off to spend some time with Guh/Umpa and do some shopping for little boys.  It’ll be a nice weekend.

I better get busy.  Got tons to do.  I hope you have a great weekend too!
