Just been having fun doing a little bit of everything this week and it’s time to share!
This is an addition to my Project Life book. Cathy Zielske shared a free download to make this page on Photoshop. I could never figure out how to customize everything like I wanted and I don’t have a printer that will do this… So I did it the old-fashioned way: with cardstock, a label and Microsoft Word.
Finally HAD to make one of these:
Ali Edwards made one of these a couple of years ago, it spread like wildfire, time went by and I forgot how much I loved it! When I spotted it on another blog this week, I knew it was time to do it. It looks beautiful in our living room!
And today, (like I promised Will) I finished his Christmas socks!
They’re 3 1/2 weeks late, but he’s a very understanding, patient boy. He loves them! And I think I have the knitting bug, BIG TIME, again!
Finally got my orange book for One Little Word!
The main color, throughout the book is going to be orange and when someone on www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com suggested this American Crafts Orange Soda book, I knew it would be perfect.
I can’t wait until Feb. 1st for the next prompt in this class – and to see what Ali has in store for us!
Decided to follow Emily Falconbridge and her Remember When journal. (there’s a flickr group, if you’re interested in playing along and here’s her blog, if you’d like to find out more: http://embers.typepad.com/ ) The first prompt was an entry to share a memory about your grandparents and here’s a look at mine:
I must say I’m kinda proud of myself for finally using this little book. It’s been sitting on a shelf, waiting for the perfect project to come along, for 3 or 4 years. I bought the fabric at Super Target in West Des Moines, in 2005 or 2006. It’s a Shabby Chic placemat.
Just sewed it into a book cover and covered a regular, ol’ composition book.
I think it’s going to be a fun, thoughtful project. I’m patiently waiting for the next prompt!
And lastly… tried a new recipe this week too:
It was really good – even picky boys liked it: homemade chicken pot pie. A very easy, quick-to-put-together recipe. Here it is, if you’d like to give it a try: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/savory-herb-crusted-chicken-pot-pie/detail.aspx (So much better than Marie Calendar’s frozen pot pie!)
So it’s Friday. We’re hoping Daddy gets home soon and takes us to Sam and Louie’s for dinner! Have a great weekend!
