I found this recipe on www.allrecipes.com which I’ve come to LOVE! They’re called “Award Winning Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies” there and we would agree with that!
If you’d like to see for yourself, here’s the recipe:
2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 c butter
1 c packed light brown sugar
1 c white sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix (I think this is the secret of making them extra chewy. I also made a batch with chocolate fudge pudding and they were excellent too.)
2 T vanilla extract
1 1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 325. Sift together flour, soda, powder, salt. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in instant pudding mix. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Add the flour mixture. Finally stir in chocolate chips. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Edges should be golden brown. Let cool completely before removing from cookie sheet. Do not overbake or they won’t be as chewy.
